Starting off with the historical witch-hunts of Medieval Europe, we explore how a shift in the Church’s position lead to the torture and executions of tens of thousands of innocent people until reason and justice turned the tide. Shockingly though, the murder of “witches” continues to this day.
Then it’s onto the metaphorical witch-hunts of the 20th and 21st Centuries, in particular McCarthyism, “cancel culture” and Trade Unions turning on their own.
And Theo and Andrew are left stunned that Charles does not have a story about an encounter with a witch. Not even on a train.
